What is a master teacher, and how involved are the master teachers in the workshops?

Master teachers are actual professors or highly experienced professionals in their field.  The workshop participants will be taught by these master teachers at all times.

What is the dress code for class?

Dress code varies by summer intensive and location.

Dress code may include black leotards (any style), pink tights, black character skirt, pointe shoes, ballet slippers, character shoes, jazz shoes. Warm-ups are used sparingly and are optional.

Furthermore, dress code includes white t-shirt, black tights, black ballet slippers, jazz shoes.

For teachers: any color leotard or t-shirt, pants or skirts, ballet slippers and/or jazz shoes.

What is a typical daily schedule during a student summer intensive?

Daily schedules may vary slightly from one workshop to another, and from one location to another. Schedules specific to individual intensives will be found in the Acceptance Packets.The following is representative of a typical student intensive daily schedule:

8:00–9:00 Breakfast
9:00–10:45 Ballet class
11:00–12:30 Variations class
12:30–1:30 Lunch break
2:00–3:30 Partnering or Character.
3:30–5:00 Free time
5:00 Off-campus exploration (trip to the theater, museum or visiting the city)
7:00 Food, dinner

Partnering-IngridWhat will CBT workshop participants do during down time or their days off?

CBT believes in providing a complete immersive experience for all of our participants. During down time, CBT will organize visits to various cultural, artistic and historic sites, such as performances, museums, churches, and historic landmarks. Participants will also have ample opportunity to explore on foot, eat at local restaurants and shop.

What is the student/adult ratio?

CBT consistently maintains a ratio of one adult to five students. This ratio is maintained throughout the workshop.

How will family and friends stay in touch with workshop participants?

CBT sends regular updates about group activities and program news and posts them on Facebook and on the web site. Participants can stay in touch through their wi-fi enabled devices or cell phones. Workshop participants who do not have wi-fi enabled devices will also have the opportunity to communicate with family members at regular intervals.
